HOME PORTRAITS
A home portrait oil painting is a special and unique work of art, and makes a wonderful addition to the decor of one's home. Such a unique and beautiful work of art becomes a lifetime treasure, and can be a source of enjoyment for many.
A home portrait can also make a very special gift for family members, loved ones, or friends, and a unique and memorable gift for that important client, or the person who has (almost) everything.
I've been commissioned to paint more than 60 home and building portraits in my career, and have had numerous repeat clients. To see other home and building portraits, click here.
As a realist painter, I focus on detail, light, and shadow, and have been painting since 1977. I've exhibited in regional and national art shows and competitions since 1987, and have received numerous awards for my work. Details can be viewed from the 'Biography' link of the menu bar.
Each home portrait is painted from photographs and, when possible, on-site studies. The average time to complete a painting is from 1 - 3 months. Please note, quality original artwork takes time. Price and completion date are determined by subject matter, your needs, and the size of the canvas, and start at $600 for a 16" x 12" original oil portrait. Past commissions have included a large majestic Victorian home, business headquarters, the farm that's been in the family for generations, a rustic log cabin on an isolated island property, and a modest, single story Tudor. I'd love to hear your idea.
OTHER COMMISSION SUBJECTS
I also accept commissions of subjects other than home portraits and building portraits. Past commission subjects include the sanctuary of a church, a classic old Ford truck and its owner enjoying a crisp autumn day, the stage of a local theater, and a collegiate baseball field and stadium.
