 ARTIST STATEMENT

In my oil paintings, I seek to recreate some of the endless beauty & glory of God’s creation. Psalm 19:1 reads, “The heavens declare the glory of GOD; and the firmament sheweth His handywork.” In a realistic style, I seek to portray the effects of light & shadow as a primary part of my work. Another important part of my work is an attempt to portray depth – to add the third dimension to a two-dimension canvas.

The motivation for my artwork is the same as the motivation for all that I do in life. I seek to serve my gracious Lord and Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. As the apostle Paul wrote, “Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.” (1 Corinthians 10:31)
